UO Media Relations coordinates the university's
interaction with external news organizations
and arranges the timely release of information about the university's policies, programs and people to the news media and the general public.
Specifically, Media Relations:
- Serves as the principal contact point for news reporters preparing stories involving the University of Oregon
- Prepares and distributes news releases about university programs, people, research, awards, grants and events
- Assists university departments in planning major publicity and public information programs
- Schedules and conducts news conferences and media briefings
