The Media Relations staff
Media Relations is the University of Oregon's primary office for news, as well as internal and marketing communications. Media Relations is part of the Office of Communications under the umbrella of Public and Government Affairs in University Relations.
Media Relations staff have had extensive experience in both broadcast and written journalism, either as members of the media or through extensive public relations with media outlets.

Who We Are:
senior director of communications541-346-3873In addition to overseeing office operations, Phil is the primary point of contact for the University of Oregon Administration (president's office, vice presidential units), Institutional Equity and Diversity, Government Affairs, Legal and Campus Communicators. He is the chief public information officer for the University.

director of science and research communications541-346-3481Jim is the primary contact for issues related to science and research across campus, including the university's centers and institutes.
office manager541-346-3314Shannon handles many administrative functions in the Office of Communications. She manages the University of Oregon’s online events calendar, maintains media distribution lists, and responds to phone calls from the media and public. She is at the center of all Media Relations activity and is knowledgeable about all aspects of campus.
