EDITORS NOTE: Bond, Schoeneck and King is a national law firm with offices in Kansas, New York and Florida. The firm has a national reputation for its collegiate sports law group.
The independent team of Bond, Schoeneck and King that is reviewing the UOs womens basketball program completed another series of interviews in Eugene on Tuesday, April 3.
Thus far, the team has interviewed in person or by telephone more than 80 people. The interviews have included current and former student-athletes, coaches and staff, coach Jody Runge, members of the athletic department, and members of the campus and Eugene communities.
The review team will now assess the information it gathered and determine whether it requires additional interviews or information before preparing its report.
There is a strong desire to bring this process to closure. It is imperative, however, that the team be allowed to conduct its review in the professional, confidential, fair and objective manner that is consistent with the firms national reputation. That process requires that the perspectives of a wide range of interested parties receive fair consideration. To insure that end result, I have not set a deadline for the review, but have asked that the team focus on ensuring the review is thorough, impartial and fair.
UO President Dave Frohnmayer has received ongoing briefings about the teams review.
After team members submit their findings, I will determine how to proceed.
