WHAT University of Oregon President Dave Frohnmayer and UO sophomore Alexis Uwagbae will spend the day together to gain a better appreciation for the respective demands and challenges each encounters during a typical day. Uwagbae, of 2729 N.E. Dekum St., Portland, is a theater arts major in the university’s Robert D. Clark Honors College.

WHEN & 8 a.m.—5 p.m. Tuesday, April 13

WHERE

7 a.m. Frohnmayer and Awagbae depart from Johnson Hall, 1098 E. 13th Ave., for the State Capitol, Salem.

8:30—10:30 a.m. Ways and Means Committee Meeting, Hearing Room F (main floor), State Capitol, Salem.

Noon Lunch, President’s Office, Johnson Hall, 1098 E. 13th Ave.

12:30—1:50 p.m. History of Latin America class taught by Carlos Aguirre, UO assistant professor of history, Room 250, Clinical Services Building, 901 E. 18th Ave.

2—3:30 p.m. Office time, President’s Office, Johnson Hall, 1098 E. 13th Ave.

3:30—5 p.m. Recognition Award ceremony for classified employees and officers of administration, Alumni Lounge, Gerlinger Hall, 1468 University St.

BACKGROUND

The day’s activities are part of the "trading places" program sponsored by the university relations committee of the Student Alumni Association and by the UO Alumni Association. The goal is to foster understanding among students and the university president as to the importance of their respective roles in the campus community. Uwagbae was selected to participate during a special March drawing.
