OREGON CLASSROOM TEACHERS HEAD FOR UO COMPUTER CAMP
|
One hundred fifty teachers will master laptop computers, software, e-mail and Internet surfing during a week-long workshop starting Monday, Aug. 1. The training is part of a two-year $975,000 project designed to bring the latest computer technology to classrooms around Oregon. Jointly sponsored by US WEST, the Oregon Education Association and the UO College of Education, the Oregon US WEST/NEA Teacher Network will provide participating teachers laptop computers, software, college classes and technical support for the next two years. Veterans of the project will serve as mentors to this year's participants. Participating teachers are also expected to share their training with colleagues in their local schools.
