UO JOURNALISM SCHOOL NAMES NEW HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS

EUGENEThe University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication initiated 20 students and recent graduates into Kappa Tau Alpha, the national honor society for journalism students, this spring.
Kappa Tau Alpha recognizes and encourages high scholastic and professional standards among journalism majors. Potential members must be earning a bachelors or masters degree in journalism with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better and be in the top 10 percent of their graduating class.
"The journalism schools standards are among the toughest on campus, so this is an accomplishment to be proud of," says Alan Stavitsky, associate dean of the school and adviser for the local Kappa Tau Alpha chapter.
