EUGENE--Dennis Howard, a professor of marketing at the University of Oregon's James H. Warsaw Sports Marketing Center, has won the highest honor awarded by the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM). NASSM gives the Dr. Earle F. Zeigler Award to one of its members each year. The honor goes to members who have made significant professional contributions to NASSM. Members of the society include scholars, students and professional sports marketers. Garth Payton, NASSM director, calls Howard "one of the most productive scholars in the sport management field." Howard, a specialist on the development and marketing of sports stadiums, joined the Warsaw Center at the UO's Charles H. Lundquist College of Business this year. Howard will deliver the closing speech May 30, 1998, at the annual NASSM conference in Buffalo, N.Y.
