Feb. 24, 1998 Contact Ross West (541) 346-2060 Calendar & Education Notes EUGENE--Thomas Mossberg, University of Oregon professor of physics, will deliver a free public lecture, "Light Talk: The Science and Technology of Light" at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, in the Alumni Lounge of Gerlinger Hall, 1468 University St. on the UO campus. Mossberg's area of research includes developing advanced optical approaches to information storage, processing and routing. His expertise includes lasers, optical science and atomic-level memory storage for computers. Mossberg has more than 100 publications in refereed scientific journals to his credit. He is a fellow of both the Optical Society of America and the American Physical Society, as well as a member of both the UO Chemical Physics Institute and the Oregon Center for Optics.
