PIANIST TO PERFORM AT LEARNING IN RETIREMENT MEETING JAN. 31

EUGENEPianist/composer Victor Steinhardt will be the featured performer during a University of Oregon Learning in Retirement town meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the UO Continuing Education classroom facilities at the Baker Downtown Center, 975 High St.
Steinhardt, a member of the piano faculty at the UO School of Music, will perform his own composition "18 Pieces in the Form of a Limerick" and a Mozart sonata.
The town meeting, latest in a series held every other month, is open to members of the community free of charge. Learning in Retirements town meetings typically combine a general-interest lecture or presentation with a brief organizational meeting and social.
The UO Learning in Retirement program is a member-run organization established in 1993 under the auspices of the UO Continuing Education office to help meet the educational interests of community members who are retired and/or at least 55 years of age. The organization offers members a flexible schedule of courses, reading-and-discussion groups, tours and social activities.
