WHAT:
The University of Oregon will hold its 123rd Spring Commencement with the keynote address delivered by Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Childrens Defense Fund (CDF) and a tireless advocate for the rights of children. UO President Dave Frohnmayer will preside over the ceremonies in which approximately 4,200WHEN: 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10
WHERE: Hayward Field, 1580 E. 15th Ave., Eugene
In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in McArthur Court, 1601 University St.
More than 30 ceremonies for departments, schools and colleges, featuring individual
recognition for bachelors and masters degree students, are scheduled at various times and locations June 910 as listed on the reverse.
PARKING: Campus parking will be limited and those attending are advised to arrive early. Free
parking will be available in the lots at East 15th Avenue and Columbia Street and
East 14th Avenue and Kincaid Street, as well as at specially marked meters along University Street, Agate Street from 13th to 18th avenues, 18th Avenue from Agate to Alder streets, 15th Avenue from University to Columbia streets, 13th Avenue from Agate to Columbia streets and Kincaid Street from 15th to 11th avenues.

12:30 p.m. Processional begins for general commencement ceremonies.
1 p.m. Presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards, Presidential Medals, and Herman
and Ersted Faculty Achievement Awards for Distinguished Teaching.
1:30 p.m. Commencement address by Marian Wright Edelman, CDF founder and president.
Edelman also will receive an honorary doctorate, the UOs fourth in 54 years.
2 p.m. Conferral of degrees, including individual recognition of doctoral degree students.
2:30 p.m. Departments, schools and colleges (listed on reverse) relocate for 3 p.m. ceremonies.
