EUGENE–Jay Breslow and Holly Magner, 2000-2001 president and vice president of the Associated Students of the University of Oregon (ASUO), have appointed 19 students to key posts in their administration.

Breslow and Magner, who took office May 25, were elected during the ASUO general election in March. Making the ASUO more visible and more accessible to the students and creating a better community relationship between University of Oregon and the City of Eugene were their campaign themes. Their plans for the coming year include recruiting and retaining more staff or faculty of color; involving more non-traditional, law and graduate students in student governance; and increasing the number of student voters through greater emphasis on voter registration.
