WHAT: The 120th University of Oregon Spring Commencement with retired U.S. Sen. Mark Hatfield of Oregon delivering the keynote address and President Dave Frohnmayer presiding. More than 3,700 spring term candidates for bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees and fall and winter graduates are eligible to participate.

WHEN: 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 14

WHERE: Hayward Field, 1580 E. 15th Ave., Eugene

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held indoors at McArthur Court, 1601 University St.

Nearly 30 ceremonies for departments, schools and colleges, featuring individual

recognition for bachelor's and master's degree students, are scheduled at various times and locations, June 13-14, as listed on the reverse.

PARKING: Campus parking will be limited and available in the lots at East 15th Avenue and

Columbia Street and East 14th Avenue and Kincaid Street. Early arrival is recommended.

SCHEDULE FOR JUNE 14 GENERAL COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES

Noon Graduates line up for the processional at the southeast end of Hayward

Field. Graduates will be seated on the field facing the speakers' platform.

12:30 p.m. Processional begins for general commencement ceremonies.

1 p.m. Presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards, Presidential Medals, Herman Faculty

Achievement Award for Distinguished Teaching, Ersted Awards for Distinguished Teaching, and Graduate Teaching Fellow Awards.

1:30 p.m. Commencement address by Mark Hatfield, retired U.S. senator from Oregon. Hatfield

also will receive an honorary doctorate, the UO's second in 51 years and Hatfield's 100th honorary degree.

2 p.m. Conferral of degrees, including individual recognition of doctoral degree students.

2:30 p.m. Departments, schools and colleges (listed on reverse) relocate for 3 p.m. ceremonies.
