The new Mortar Board members were initiated on May 3. New executive officers of the UO chapter are Rebecca Woolley, president; Marisa Tabizon, vice president; Jennifer Schiele, secretary; and Yujin Chi, treasurer. Mortar Board members are selected for contributions made to the university community in the areas of leadership, scholarship and service. The university's Scroll and Scribe chapter of Mortar Board was chartered in 1921. Traditional Mortar Board activities include selecting the Professor of the Month recipients, hosting the Junior Scholar Awards, coordinating the production of the annual Mortar Board planner and co-sponsoring the University Day campus clean-up events.
