EUGENE--The University of Oregon will rename its Law Center building in a dedication ceremony honoring Jeff and Susan Grayson, UO alumni and supporters.

The new Grayson Hall signs will be unveiled at the 6 p.m.-6:45 p.m. dedication ceremony on Thursday, June 12, in the front plaza of the UO Law Center, 1101 Kincaid St.

On hand for the ceremony will be Jeff and Susan Grayson; UO President Dave Frohnmayer; UO Provost John Moseley; Tom Dyke, associate dean, UO College of Arts and Sciences; Jane Gordon, associate dean, UO School of Law; members of the UO Foundation Board of Trustees; and other invited guests.

The Graysons recently committed $1.5 million to renovate the center that now houses the UO law school. The remodeled building will provide state-of-the-art classrooms and office space, primarily for faculty and staff in the UO College of Arts and Sciences. The $5.5 million Grayson Hall remodeling will help the university accommodate an expected enrollment increase after the turn of the century.

The law building will be available for new uses when the law school moves into its new center, soon to be under construction at East 15th Avenue and Agate Street. The Grayson Hall remodeling project will get underway upon completion of the new law center in early 1999. The College of Arts and Sciences plans to occupy Grayson Hall by the end of 1999.

Jeff Grayson, a 1964 UO business graduate, is a UO Foundation trustee and co-chair of The Oregon Campaign, the UO's $200 million fundraising effort which began in 1994 and is currently at $174 million. He is chairman and chief executive officer of Capital Consultants, a Portland investment management company he founded in 1968.

Susan Grayson is a 1961 general science graduate of the University of Oregon.
