EUGENE--Mad Duck Repertory Theatre will celebrate its third season with three productions--an original children's play, a wildly comic condensation of Shakespeare's classics and a dark comedy--on the University of Oregon campus this summer.

Tickets for "Fairy Tale Express," "The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)" and "Baby with the Bathwater" go on sale Monday, June 23. The children's play will be performed outdoors in the Carnival Theatre space adjacent to Villard Hall, 1109 Old Campus Lane, while the other two productions will be staged in the Arena Theatre at Villard Hall.

Opening the season will be "Fairy Tale Express" directed by Shelley Douma. Performances will be at 11 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays beginning July 11 and continuing through Aug. 9. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children but only $2 for adults accompanied by children.

The repertory season will continue indoors with alternating performances of "The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)," directed by Heather Lindsley, and "Baby with the Bathwater," directed by Robin Aronson.

"The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)," made famous by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, will open on July 17, with additional performances on July 18-20, 26-27 and 31, and on Aug. 1 and 9-10.

Christopher Durang's "Baby with the Bathwater" will conclude the summer season, opening July 24 and continuing July 25 and Aug. 2-3, 7-8 and 14-17.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances of these two indoor productions begin at 8 p.m. while Sunday shows start at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the two comedies are $7 for the general public and $5 for senior citizens and students on Thursdays and Sundays. For Friday and Saturday performances, tickets are $8 for the general public and $6 for senior citizens and students.

Mad Duck Repertory Theatre is comprised of a company involved in all aspects of theater, from acting in the plays to the construction of the sets. Graduate theater students direct each play.

The design staff includes set designer Rebecca Utz, costume designer Karen Dinsmore, lighting designer Shelley Douma, and sound designer Jim Utz, who doubles as the technical director.
