UO GRADUATE PICKS UP DIPLOMA WITH BABY UNDER EACH ARM
University of Oregon graduate student Shaun Wildes twin daughters will go along when she picks up her master of business administration degree at 6 p.m. Friday, June 11, during a special ceremony for MBA students at Beall Concert Hall, 961 E. 18th Ave. "I feel they went through most of the program with me. They deserve this as much as I do," she says of her nine-month-old daughters. Starting a family while in graduate school was a challenge, Wilde says, and adds that the 16 hours she worked each week as a graduate teaching fellow added to the stress. She got through the program at the UOs Charles H. Lundquist College of Business, Wilde says, with the help of "my incredibly supportive husband, Michaeland some careful planning." She finished as much of the program as possible before the twins arrived in September, took two independent study courses the following term and finished off the academic year by taking only three classes during winter and spring terms. Now the whole family is packing and applying for passports. Wilde starts a job as a management consultant in Frankfurt, Germany, next month.
