EUGENE–The University of Oregon’s graduate program in education is the 13th best publicly funded program in the nation and 20th overall, according to U.S. News & World Report. The UO graduate program in architecture ranks 15th in the magazine’s annual ranking of graduate programs at American colleges and universities.

The magazine’s Best Graduate Schools 2001 edition will appear on newsstands on Monday, April 3.

"We are absolutely delighted with the showing the University of Oregon has made in this most recent survey. It shows what we all know to be the case–our graduate programs are among the finest in the nation. I’m glad to see that they are getting the recognition they deserve," says UO President Dave Frohnmayer.

The report lists the UO’s special education graduate program as third best in the nation, up from a No. 4 ranking last year. The college is listed as second in the nation in receipt of research funding.

The Department of Architecture graduate program was 15th in the country. The UO offers the only professionally accredited architecture graduate degree program in the state of Oregon.

The survey considers student selectivity, placement success, faculty resources and separate measures of institutional reputation.
