EUGENE–Nearly 625 University of Oregon students are candidates for degrees at the end of winter term 1999, according to officials in the Office of the Registrar.

Among winter term’s 621 degree candidates are 496 receiving bachelor’s degrees, 95 completing master’s degrees and 30 finishing doctoral degrees. In addition, two candidates are receiving certificates.

No commencement ceremonies will be held. However, several schools, colleges and departments will host informal receptions to honor graduates and their families.

Diplomas will be mailed to all who complete graduation requirements by the end of the term on March 19.
