EUGENE–Contemporary percussion music and a "Chamber Musicale" showcasing student ensembles await audiences attending the final two winter concerts scheduled this week at the University of Oregon School of Music, 961 E. 18th Ave.

Sunday, March 14–University Percussion Ensemble

The University Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Graduate Teaching Fellow Sean Wagoner, will give its winter concert at 1 p.m. in Room 198 of the Music Building, 961 E. 18th Ave. Tickets, available at the door, are $5 general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens.

Four contemporary selections are on the program: "The Unknown Dances" by Gordon Rencher, "Music for Percussions" by Kan Ishii, "Raptures of Undream" by Bruce Hamilton and "Memories of the Seashore," featuring marimba soloist John Kalny.

Sunday, March 14–A Chamber Musicale

Student chamber ensembles will present a "Chamber Musicale" at 7 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall, 961 E. 18th Ave. Tickets, available at the door, are $5 general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens.

Selections on the program include "Bachianas Brasilieras No. 1 for Cello Octet" by Villa-Lobos, "String Quartet in G Major" by Mozart, "Sonata for Cello and Piano" by Shostakovich and "Quartet for Piano and Strings in G Minor" by Brahms.

The performers are graduate and undergraduate students under the guidance of Assistant Professor Gregory Mason, director of chamber music studies at the music school.
