EUGENE– Kate Bonansinga, visual arts critic for Willamette Week, will give a lecture, "Gender and Identity in Contemporary Asian Art," at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, during the free MusEvenings! weekly program at the University of Oregon Museum of Art, 1430 Johnson Lane.

Bonansinga’s lecture compliments the exhibition, "Web of Confession: Paintings by Masami Teraoka," at the UO art museum March 28 through May 9. This collection of 21 paintings by Teraoka, a preeminent Japanese artist, offers contemporary approaches to religion, confession, sexuality, gender and technology while providing fascinating commentary on the contemporary world as the 21st century approaches.

The Museum of Art, accessible to people with disabilities, is open from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Suggested admission is $3, except on Wednesdays when the MusEvenings! program offers free extended viewing hours from 5—8 p.m. Museum members, students, UO employees and children are admitted free.
