WHAT University of Oregon President Dave Frohnmayer and UO sophomore Christine Carson will team up for a half day to perform a host of presidential duties. Carson, 20, is a native of Lebanon, Ore., and a pre-journalism student.

WHERE University of Oregon campus according to the following schedule:
8:30 a.m. Frohnmayer and Carson will start their day with breakfast and a get-to-know-you conversation in the Office of the President,
Room 110, Johnson Hall, 1098 E. 13th Ave.
9:3010:30 a.m. Frohnmayer and Carson will surprise three members of the UO faculty when they bestow upon them the 2000 Thomas H. Herman Faculty Achievement Award for Distinguished Teaching. Locations to be announced.
10:3011 a.m. Frohnmayer and Carson will meet with Michael Redding, associate vice president, Office of Governmental Affairs, for an update on federal, state and city relations. Room 110, Johnson Hall.
1111:30 a.m. Frohnmayer and Carson will meet with members of the presidents executive staff. Room 110, Johnson Hall.
11:3012:15 Frohnmayer and Carson will attend a University Day ceremony at Oregon Hall, 1585 E. 13th Ave. Frohnmayer will speak at noon.
12:301 p.m. Frohnmayer and Carson will attend the dedication of the Glenn Starlin Courtyard, UO Museum of Natural History, 1680 E. 15th Ave. Frohnmayer will speak at 12:30 p.m.
BACKGROUND
The days activities are part of the "trading places" program sponsored by the University Relations Committee of the Student Alumni Association and by the UO Alumni Association. The goal is to foster understanding among students and the university president about the importance of their respective roles in the campus community. Carson was selected to participate during a special drawing.
