NATIONAL SOLAR SOCIETY HONORS UO PROFESSOR

EUGENE--The American Solar Energy Society presented its Passive Pioneer Award to John S. Reynolds, a University of Oregon professor of architecture, during an April 29 ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Reynolds, director of the UO Solar Energy Center, received the award for his work in the field of passive solar energy.

The American Solar Energy Society is a national organization dedicated exclusively to the advancement of solar energy technologies.

Reynolds has advised three Oregon governors on energy policy. He has served on the boards of the Solar Lobby, the American Solar Energy Society and the Eugene Water & Electric Board.

He is the author of the textbooks "Mechanical and Electrical Equipment for Buildings" and "Inside Out: Design Procedures for Passive Environmental Technologies."
