NEWS ADVISORY:
EUGENE--Because the Mid East peace process has resumed, Hasan Abdel Rahman, chief representative to the United States from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian National Authority, has canceled his Tuesday, May 5, speech on the University of Oregon campus. Rahman, who was to speak on "The Peace Process from a Palestinian Perspective," canceled the talk in order to participate in the latest round of peace talks between the PLO and Israel. The Carlton Raymond and Wilberta Ripley Savage Endowment in International Relations and Peace sponsors the annual peace and international relations lecture. Rahman's talk will be rescheduled in September, according to event coordinator Sandi Leavitt.
