UO STUDENTS RECEIVE CENTURION AWARDS

EUGENE--More than 100 University of Oregon student leaders received 1998 Centurion Awards in recognition of their "dedication and outstanding service" throughout the past year.

Centurions accepted their awards during the Family Weekend All-University Awards Luncheon on May 16. Faculty members nominated students for the award, and a panel of faculty, staff and students then selected the Centurions from the nominees.

The Oregon residents who received Centurion Awards include:

ALBANY--Julie Smith, a junior public relations major.

ALOHA--Sarah Wiley, a senior pre-journalism major.

ASHLAND--Brooks Barnett, a freshman undeclared major.

BEAVERTON--Amie Corbin, a senior chemistry major; Becky Grossman, a junior economics major; Allison Hawes, a junior public relations major; Jessica Heffernan, a senior psychology major; Tiffany Helleson, a senior history and French major; William Holmstrom, a senior planning, public policy and management major; Nisha Makadia, a sophomore biochemistry major; Jordanna Petkun, a junior sociology and Spanish major; and Geneva Wortman, a junior planning, public policy and management and sociology major.
