BACKGROUND

Mitchell is a keynote speaker at the Violence/Suffering/Image conference sponsored by the Carlton Raymond and Wilberta Ripley Savage Endowment in International Relations and Peace. The conference will explore the purpose and fabric of images that portray violence and suffering. The discussion will explore the Cambodian genocide, the resistance movement in Peru, and wars in El Salvador and in Kurdish communities. The talk is free and open to the public.
