EUGENE–Forty University of Oregon students are new members of Mortar Board, a national honor society for seniors.

Mortar Board members are selected for contributions made to the university community in the areas of leadership, scholarship and service. The university’s Scroll and Scribe chapter of Mortar Board was chartered in 1921.

Traditional Mortar Board activities include selecting the Professor of the Month recipients, hosting the Junior Scholar Awards, coordinating the production of the annual Mortar Board planner and co-sponsoring University Day campus clean-up events.

New members of Mortar Board include:
