DANCE FACULTY TO PRESENT RESEARCH PROJECTS

EUGENE–Faculty from the University of Oregon Department of Dance will present a Dance Research Colloquium from 3:30—6 p.m. on Friday, May 21, in Room 353 of Gerlinger Annex, 1484 University St.

Steven Chatfield, associate professor of dance, is coordinator of the free annual event. The colloquium presentations reflect current topics in dance research.

Sherrie Barr, associate professor, will present "The Dancer and the Performative Process: Engaging Protonarrativity."

Assistant professor Amy Lynn Stoddart will present "A Comparative Analysis of George Balanchine’s ‘Agon’ and Jerome Robbins’ ‘West Side Story.’"

Visiting assistant professor Pamela Geber will share her research on a dance science topic, "Principles of Construction and Stress: The Shoulder in Relation to Today’s Dancer."

Sharon Raffony, a master of arts degree candidate and graduate teaching fellow in dance, will present her master’s project, "Nutrition Education for Adolescent Dancers."
