University of Oregon students and members of the community will be able to watch live national and statewide returns at an election night party starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7. Three giant television screens–one connected to the Internet–will deliver real-time election returns beginning at 6 p.m. in the Fishbowl at the Erb Memorial Union, 1222 E. 13th Ave. The EMU Student Activities Resource Office is hosting the event, which features a live band. "We wanted to thank our students for the great job they did registering voters and explaining the issues," says Lee LaTour, EMU marketing director. UO student volunteers registered more than 5,000 voters for the November election and brought political stars like Jesse Jackson and Gloria Steinem to campus in their get-out-the-vote efforts.
