Hundreds of prospective college students and their families will flock to the University of Oregon on Sunday, Nov. 12, for the annual Duck Preview. The day-long event will begin with registration and a student activities fair from 89 a.m. at McArthur Court, 1601 University St. on campus. UO President Dave Frohnmayer and Martha Pitts, director of admissions, will welcome the participants at 9 a.m. Current UO students then will escort visitors on a 45-minute campus walking tour before visitors participate in two academic interest sessions. Following a lunch break, the fledging Ducks and their parents are invited, beginning at 1:30 p.m., to attend any of the several informal presentations, open houses and tours on topics such as the Honors College, establishing Oregon residency for tuition purposes, and university and Greek housing options, as well as information on intercollegiate athletics, club sports and intramurals. Participants also will have access to on-site admissions counseling and both the Museum of Natural History and the UO Bookstore will be open throughout the afternoon.
