EUGENE--Rod Slemmons, curator of the University of Oregon Museum of Art's current exhibition, "Water: The Renewable Metaphor," will present a free gallery talk at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21.

Formerly an associate curator of photography at the Seattle Art Museum and now a freelance curator and instructor at the University of Washington, Slemmons will discuss the individual artistic works he chose for the exhibition. On display through Jan. 4, 1998, the exhibition presents the work of nine contemporary American and German photographers who explore the visual allegory of water.

Slemmons also will examine the overall theme of the exhibit as well as contemporary photography both in America and Germany.

Accessible to people with disabilities, the UO Museum of Art is open from noon-8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon-5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Admission is a $3 suggested donation, but it is free from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday during the weekly MusEvenings!

The UO Museum of Art's 1997-98 exhibitions and programs are supported in part by a grant from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
