EUGENEUniversity of Oregon art history professor Jeffrey Hurwit will deliver a free public lecture and slide presentation on ancient Greece at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, in Room 100 of Willamette Hall, 1371 E. 13th Ave. on the University of Oregon campus.
Hurwits lecture, entitled "The Uses of the Past on the Acropolis in Athens," will examine how major monuments from the "Golden Age" of Athens reveal the past within the present by displaying remnants from earlier eras.
This is the first of three "A Touch of KnowledgeUO Public Lecture Series" events planned this year.
