EUGENEThe Motets, an a cappella group of 11 women singers, will perform a wide range of music from traditional British Christmas carols to popular Christmas songs during an afternoon of entertainment for the family on Sunday, Dec. 5, at the University of Oregon Museum of Art, 1430 Johnson Lane.
The unaccompanied group, whose repertoire focuses on early music and chants, will perform from 3 to 4 p.m. in the museums Throne Room. The Motets, formed in 1995, are among several vocal groups that also will perform Dec. 4 during the art museums Holiday Open House.
A nationally accredited facility, the UO Museum of Art is accessible to people with disabilities. It is open from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The museum suggests a $3 donation, but admission is free during the weekly MusEvenings! program and extended viewing hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. Museum members, students, UO employees and children are always admitted free.
During the holidays, the museum will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 23 and be closed Dec. 2425. It also will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 30 and be closed Dec. 31Jan. 1.
