UO HOMECOMING WEEKEND OFFERS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

EUGENESomething old, something new could be the theme of Homecoming 1999 at the University of Oregon, Oct. 2930.
Duck football and class reunions headline the weekends festivities, which include two resurrected events: a Homecoming Ball and Homecoming Expoa virtual UO road show featuring exhibits from university schools, colleges and programs.
Homecoming weekend begins on Friday, Oct. 29, with a free concert by the UO School of Music. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall, 961 E. 18th Ave.
The evening continues with the Homecoming Ball, "The Masquerade in Monte Carlo," which starts at 8:30 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Erb Memorial Union, 1222 E. 13th Ave., and features dancing, a casino and an auction. Tickets, available at The Break, formerly the EMU recreation center, are $12 per individual and $20 per couple.
Also on Friday, 45th reunions for the classes of 1953, 54 and 55 and 25th reunions for the classes of 1973, 74, and 75 will take place from 68 p.m. at Valley River Inn, 1000 Valley River Way. Registration for the reunions begins at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Valley River Inn.
Other weekend reunion events include campus tours and class receptions.
Homecoming continues on Saturday, Oct. 30, with events on campus and at Autzen Stadium, 2700 Centennial Blvd.
The Ducks face the Arizona State Sun Devils at 3:30 p.m. at Autzen Stadium. The game will be preceded by alumni parties and the Homecoming Expo, which is back after a one-year hiatus and will be held beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Ed Moshofsky Sports Center Plaza, 2735 Leo Harris Parkway. The expo will showcase exhibits from university schools, colleges and programs. The Oregon Duck will be on hand, and fans can participate in university trivia contests.
Inside the Moshofsky Center, the UO Alumni Association is hosting a suite where its members can stop by, enjoy pregame snacks and beverages and pick up a special gift. The School of Journalism and Communication and the Oregon Daily Emerald also are hosting a pregame tailgate event for alumni and friends prior to kickoff.
On campus, exhibits at the Museum of Art, 1430 Johnson Lane, and Museum of Natural History, 1680 E. 15th Ave., are open.
In addition, the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business, 955 E. 13th Ave., is sponsoring "Return On Your Education," a program featuring its new dean, Phil Romero, and a lecture on the impact of the Internet.
Tours also will be given at the new Student Recreation and Fitness Center, 1525 University St.
