BACKGROUND

The "Mayor’s Invitational" was first held in 1985 as an opportunity to bring mayors together, showcase the University of Oregon and raise awareness of the university statewide. The Alumni Advocates then held separate receptions with legislators and candidates around the state. This year, those events have been combined, and the event has been renamed the "President’s Invitational."

"This is an important opportunity for friends of the university to informally talk with people who have influence in their communities–people who will be making important funding decisions in Salem next year," says Mary Jubitz.

All guests pay for their own football tickets.
