EUGENE–A new slate of officers will lead the University of Oregon Student Alumni Association (SAA) during the 1999—2000 school year.

Elected SAA president is Kevin Reichelt, a senior biochemistry and psychology major. He is a resident of 518 Reiter Dr., Ontario.

Founded in 1978 as the Student University Relations Council, the Student Alumni Association works in conjunction with the UO Alumni Association to promote participation in the activities of the university, according to Tutti Elhindi, UO Alumni Association assistant director for chapter relations and SAA adviser.

"We coordinate activities which bring together students, alumni, faculty, parents and the community to the benefit of all who are involved," Elhindi says.

Major events the association works on include Homecoming, spring and fall Family Weekends, Senior Send-Off and the Mentor Program, which matches students with alumni mentors to assist in career planning and goal setting.
